главная проблема что я не могу понять к какому виртхосту обращаются, иначе
можно было бы локализовать проблему (вдруг скрипты гдето кривые или нечто
подобное)

час назад обновил версию до
./nginx -v
nginx version: nginx/0.6.17
в конфиге заодно сделал ограничение

    limit_zone   one  $binary_remote_addr  10m;
    limit_conn   one  5;

, но похоже это не помогло


сейчас проблема вроде рассосалась, НО
либо по причине того что я заблокировал один подозрительный ИП адрес
либо просто так совпало :)
