Hi.

Igor, do you plan to add a function for retrieving the username from a 
HTTP Digest Authorization header?

I'm implementing HTTP Digest authentication in a Python module, but I 
would like to be able to log the remote user name, using the 
$remote_user variable.


If you don't have the time, are you willing to accept a patch?
Or do you think it is better to add this function only when full support 
for Digest authentication is implemented?
