It won't work anyway.

No version of spawn-fcgi will help you (or the OP) with crashing PHP
processes. Use a process manager, like supervisord, god, runit, upstart,
sysvinit, daemontools or whatever suits you, that can actually restart a
crashed PHP.

(shameless plug: consider supervisord with ngx_supervisord, announced
here recently)
