Help with recompiling

I have NGinX installed from the Ubuntu rpm but since we deal with alot
of flv files I wanted to recompile NGinX with the http_flv_module.  It
goes fine until the point when I use the make command and make install
command.  Then I get "command not found" so I tried sudo make and still
nothing......I am stumped.
