What's the module status of rewrite module?

Hi, gurus,

We are translating the docs of this page:
http://nginx.org/en/docs/install.html. With the option of
'--without-http_rewrite_module ', it said "The module is experimental
— its directives may change in the future." It means the module will
be changed in the future? I need some comments.
