Have you encountered any bug while using it in production?

That may be a good start point for contributing to the project.

While using it, have you feel the lack of a feature? If yes, you might
propose implementing such new 'missing' feature to fill the gap.

Answering those questions might help you decide if investing time
contributing to the project is a good use of your time as well.
