Debugging fastcgi parameters

Thanks for the patch. I applied it and reinstalled nginx. Looking  in my 
debug log I just see this:

[debug] 3025#0: *100 http init upstream, client timer: 0
[debug] 3025#0: *100 http script copy: ""
[debug] 3025#0: *100 fastcgi param: "*s: *s"
[debug] 3025#0: *100 http script copy: ""
[debug] 3025#0: *100 fastcgi param: "*s: *s"
[debug] 3025#0: *100 http script copy: ""
[debug] 3025#0: *100 fastcgi param: "*s: *s"

So the fastcgi param line is showing now...but no parameters, even on 
pages that work.

Is there some other step I'm missing?
