Critical SSL Errors

Hallo,

i get those critical ssl errors in our nginx error log

2009/07/08 10:33:35 [crit] 15582#0: *382780 SSL_do_handshake() failed 
(SSL: error:140760FC:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_CLIENT_HELLO:unknown 
protocol) while SSL handshaking, client: 212.19.39.200, server: XXXXXXXXXXX

the ssl connections cant be established in this case. anyone seen 
something like this before?
