May have found my problem. /usr/lib64/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/x86_64-linux/unistd.ph requires asm/unistd.ph checks arch and then requires either unistd_32.ph OR unistd_64.ph I placed "asm/" before unistd_64.ph and the script runs fine. Is this a normal file layout for Perl, or is Gentoo screwing around?
