process and forward http request

Hello,
Is there a way to set up nginx so that an http request is:
(1) processed as usual, with the client receiving the appropriate answer
(2) and the same request is forwarded to another server with the answer ignored. 

It would be important that the forward be done once the answer is sent to the client.
