Nothing in Conf.d

Hello.

I'm new to Nginx - & set it up a week or so ago.. (with Codeigniter /
PHP).. 

Having problems.

1)

Anyway, I tried tonight. & see I have a directory of \etc\nginx\conf.d\ 
with nothing in it.

Is this folder a place to put config files ? 

and where on the net can I download / view a list of 'propper' config
files...
