nginx slow for no reason

Hello,
A synflood was my first thought (guess I should take my pills... ;)).
But it's unlikely given the IP patterns.
Are the logs saying anything ?
Did you trying playing with those:
- http://wiki.nginx.org/EventsModule#worker_connections
- http://wiki.nginx.org/CoreModule#worker_rlimit_nofile
