Supporting special characters in URI for location block

[Rv Rv]

I have a URI with spanish characters that needs to be handled in location block specific to it e.g. I want to do location <URI with spanish characters> {}
However, nginx does not seem to match URI in location block  with spanish (or any other characters including chinese). Is this functionality supported?Thanks
