nginx to serve many tiny image files

Hi all,

  I set up a 4 processor box to serve many tiny jpg files <1kb, but 
15000 different ones.
A typical usage-scenario would be to serve images for an oneline catalog 
or an ad-server
with very tiny thumbnails.

I would be most thankful for any configuration suggestions.
