Syslog patch nginx version 0.8.27

Hi list,

I tried to apply the syslog patch
(http://bugs.gentoo.org/attachment.cgi?id=197180) to the newest nginx
version, but failed with compile errors. 

src/core/ngx_log.c: In function 'ngx_log_error_core':
src/core/ngx_log.c:152: error: pointer targets in passing argument 2 of
'__builtin_strncpy' differ in signedness
src/core/ngx_log.c: In function 'ngx_error_log':
src/core/ngx_log.c:451: error: pointer targets in assignment differ in
signedness
src/core/ngx_log.c:456: error: pointer targets in assignment differ in
signedness

Anyone got some advice what to do about it or where to look?
